Official Contest Rules – Thriving Oregon Selfie Contest

1. Eligibility

  • Open to residents of the United States.
  • Participants under the age of 18 must obtain permission from a parent or guardian. Prizes for minors will be awarded to their parent or guardian.
  • Employees, sponsors, or affiliates of Thriving Oregon and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

2. Contest Period

  • The contest runs monthly, with entries closing on the last day of each month at 11:59 PM PST. Winners are selected by a random drawing from that month’s entries.

3. How to Enter

  • Snap a Selfie: Take a photo with a local business in Oregon (e.g., food trucks, boutiques, cafes).
  • Submit Your Entry: Use the official contest entry form on our site to upload your selfie, including your name, email, and a short description.
  • Earn Bonus Entries:
    • Share your selfie on Instagram, Facebook, or X (Twitter) with a shoutout to the business.
    • Invite friends and family to participate using your unique referral link.

4. No Purchase Necessary

  • Participation in the contest is free, and no purchase is required. Entries must meet eligibility criteria without additional consideration or payment to qualify.

5. Prizes and Winner Selection

  • A $500 Visa gift card will be awarded each month.
  • Winners will be chosen through a random drawing. Participants can increase their chances by submitting new selfies and sharing their referral links.
  • Winners will be contacted via the email provided and must respond within 10 business days to claim the prize. If unclaimed, a new winner may be drawn.

6. Image Use and Removal

  • By entering, participants grant Thriving Oregon the right to feature their selfie on the website and related promotional materials.
  • Participants can request the removal of their images by contacting us directly. We will honor removal requests within 5 business days.

7. Referral Bonus and Leaderboard

  • Each participant receives a unique referral link. For every successful referral, participants earn additional chances to win.
  • The leaderboard displays the top referrers each month for additional prizes.

8. Privacy Policy

  • Personal information, including email addresses, will only be used for contest purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
  • Winners’ names may be publicly announced unless they request otherwise.

9. Compliance with Local and Federal Laws

  • This contest complies with Oregon sweepstakes laws and U.S. federal regulations. Oregon prohibits misleading participants by implying they are finalists if more than 25% of entrants share the same odds of winning.
  • Prizes valued over $600 require the issuance of a 1099 form to the winner for tax purposes.

10. Disqualification

  • Entries containing inappropriate content, false information, or not featuring a local Oregon business will be disqualified.
  • Thriving Oregon reserves the right to disqualify any participant for violating the contest rules or using fraudulent methods to earn entries.
